Babies Everywhere

Let me tell you if you don’t already know. Everybody seems to be having babies, right now, all around us, this month, haha.

Really, it seems like most of my friends and family just had, or are having a baby. Mari and I thought about having another to add to our collection. But I think we are done. It saddens me when I watch videos of when my kids were babies. I start thinking about them growing up so fast. Soon they will be leaving the house and we won’t be seeing them very often. They will go out and start their own lives, doing all the things that they have been wanting to do. (…sigh…)

But, I guess that is what it is all about. Have kids, raise them the best you can, let them start living their own lives.

Yesterday was Zack’s birthday. He is now 10 years old. Man, where did the first 9 years go? I can’t believe how emotional I get about this. I knew that he would grow up but I didn’t know that I would feel this way about it. I feel like I’m loosing my 1st baby, my baby boy, my little buddy.

Life goes on…right.

Happy Birthday Zack…Your mother and I love you very much.

Next President of the United States….or not?

Man, I just got through watching Obama’s Presidential Campaign Announcement (22 minutes) and he blew me away. I had no idea who he was till now. I thought he was just another run of the mill politician…promise after promise with no delivery. I’m going to watch this candidate because I think he will be the next president. I’m going to do more research on Obama before I make a final decision but so far he is my number one.

You never know, Hillary Clinton might the one…who do you think really was the President when Bill was in office…haha.

One Screen, Two Screen, or Wide Screen

Now days it seems like everybody has dual monitors sitting on their desks. There was a time that I didn’t understand why a person would want dual monitors but now I can see why. For programmers (code monkeys) it was easy enough to crank out line after line of code and then save, alt + tab, F5 to see the results. But when you are working with Photoshop, a code editor, and a browser or two it is very frustrating when your dealing with one monitor. I know, graphic designers/developers have been dealing with it for years but there is truly no need now. With the cost of monitors being somewhat cheaper you can now afford to have a dual monitor setup. I thought that it would be a waste of money and a pain in the neck to have dual monitors as a programmer. But now, I want dual monitors…or would I like one 22″ or 24″ wide screen monitor better? I really like the ease of having everything on one monitor. There isn’t any extra hardware to install to support the wide screen monitor. With a dual monitor setup you have to have the correct connections or it doesn’t work.

HHmmm…one screen or two, that is the question.

I think I will have to go with the one screen…being a wide screen…a 24″ wide screen at that.

Rambling Thoughts

It’s funny how most people think of men. They see a typical man as being somebody that would have stubble on his face, wearing a baseball cap, holding a beer in one hand and a bag of chips in the other rooting for some type of sport. Wearing miss matched clothing running around burping and farting as if there is nothing wrong with that.

Well, being a man I would have to agree with most of that myself. I sometimes think that there might be something wrong with me because I really don’t care about watching sports on TV. I actually find myself on the computer doing something else when the majority of all other men are watching the Super Bowl. Maybe it’s just because the Cowboys weren’t playing, who knows. Does this make me gay or something? I would have to say NO. I know several gay men that watch sports just as much as the majority of straight men. I can’t spout stats for hours and hours about every team in every sport. I find myself really bored when the conversation turns into the late night sports shows…I know more stats than you do. I don’t think that it is because I’m not into sports because I love coaching baseball, soccer, and now I’m giving basketball a try this year. I love to play the sports and I really enjoy going to watch a live game. But I just can’t bring myself to spend hours in front of the TV watching sport and sport after sport. I know people that love to watch golf on TV…what is that about. I love to play golf but watch it on TV. I do that when I’m ready to take a nap and I can’t fall asleep on my own. (Sorry goes out to all those golf fans out there, nothing personal)

I have a friend, James, which tries every year to get me to play fantasy football with him and several others. I like the fact that he cares enough to ask but I just can’t get into keeping up with the stats enough to place anywhere other than last. Who knows, I may get brave one year and give it a try so keep asking James, I may say yes next year.

I love shooting pool, competitive billiards, does that count or is that just an easy way out for a want-a-be sports fan? I like to bowl. I also like to watch NASCAR from time to time, haha, I can hear the red neck jokes coming from that one. But I couldn’t tell you who all the drivers are now days.

My son, Zack, likes to watch sports on TV so I know it is in my blood somewhere. Or, well, my wife, Mari, loves to watch sports so he probably got that from her blood line, man, I can’t win for loosing, haha.

I guess baseball is my favorite sport. I loved playing it and I can sit and watch most of a game on TV but I still couldn’t tell you all the stats and players names. There was a time in the past that I could have bored you to death talking baseball stats. I even collected tons of baseball trading cards. There you go, I am a man. Had myself worried there for a minute. I feel better now.

Take care.

Picture of the Month

Ok, I know, it has over a month since my last post. It sucks but life has a way to keep you from having time to do the fun stuff.

This is my favorite picture for the month.

Angels

This picture makes me think of Angels. The precious moments of our every day lives…when you have children. Cherish the moments that you get with your little ones.
