You got it, it’s Monday once again. You could look at it as a negative thing but I’m trying to take the positive approach. We get to start another week.

The parenting class is coming along nicely. I’m really enjoying it so far. Last night it seemed like everything that we went over that we shouldn’t be doing is exactly what I’m doing. How funny, when you think your doing somewhat of a good job as a parent you find out that there is still a long road ahead and that there are several areas that you can do better in. I need to listen to my kids more and I need to keep my anger in check. Kids can bring out the best in you and sometimes the worst in you. As a parent we just have to figure out the best way to handle each child. They are all different and I don’t believe that there is a simple answer on how to raise them. There isn’t a “Staples Easy” button when it comes to parenting. I’ve got a long way to go but I’m going to work on it so I can be a better parent.

As usual work has been very busy and my time just flies away faster than I can keep up with it. I’m going to take a few days off soon for my kids Spring Break. Zack and I are going to take a trip down to Lake Buchanan for some father son time. My dad will be joining us for some, hopefully great, sand bass fishing. When we get back from the fishing trip I want to do something crazy…I want to take Zoe, my daughter, out for a father daughter day. I say crazy because she will most likely want to go spend the entire day shopping. I’m not sure how I will handle that. Maybe I can talk her into doing something else, like going to the zoo or something similar. Who knows but I’ll give it a shot.

Highland basket ball is over for the year. The boys made it to the playoffs for the first time in eleven years, great job for the Highland boys. The girls made it right up to the state tournament, great job for the Highland girls.

Happy Tuesday

Referring to the comments from my last post: I didn’t get the puppy dog, BBs, orange juice, or socks when I went to WalMart, sorry guys. I did get some Vicks Cold Flu for me and a Mickey Mouse watch for Mari. I got the flu once again. I guess I have nothing better to do than be sick. I love being sick all the time. I can’t wait till I get typhoidfreakenoinionrectumitus. That’s right, whatever you can dream up I apparently will get. If you haven’t had the flu yet I suggest that you get it. They are giving it away for free at all the stores, schools, public places, homes, private places, hidden places, I think you can get it just about anywhere you want now. Some people have so much of it that they are spewing it out into the air with every breath they have just so you and I can share in the wealth of flu germs. You don’t know how much fun you are missing out on.

Moving on….

Mari and I started a parenting class last night in hopes that we can learn how to be parents, or at least be better parents. Our church is offering the class so we both thought it would be best that we give it a shot and see what we can learn. I think it is going to be a very good experience. It will let us know if we are even close to where we should be. The hardest thing to do now days is raise your kids to be decent human beings so any help is welcome in my opinion. I’ll let you know how it is going.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody.

It’s been a while since my last post, sorry about that. I get busy and forget to post.

The last three weeks have been crazy for me. Meeting deadlines on a couple of projects, then flying to Harlingen on a Tuesday for a Wednesday morning meeting then getting back on a plane that afternoon to get back home. Too much for me, Too many hours of work as well. I’m starting to feel my age. My body can’t handle the long long hours like it used to. There were so many delays flying with Southwest airlines. The weather had them all messed up and in turn it messed our schedule up. Oh well, we made it there and back without incident.

The wind is still blowing. It hasn’t really stopped since my last post. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired, haha.

I’m going to surprise my kids by showing up to their school for their Valentine parties. I told them this morning that I couldn’t make it. I can’t wait to see their faces when I show up. I think they will be happy to see me there.
