Let’s Catch Up

Well, it’s time to catch up on my blogging. There has been a lot going on for me these past few weeks. My son, Zack, celebrated his 11th birthday. It was a fun party that we threw him with family and friends. We ordered him some Heelys shoes for his birthday present. They were supposed to be in WAY before his birthday but of course they didn’t come in. So I got him an XBox game because I couldn’t stand to not give him something on his birthday. Mari wrote him a letter that outlined his life from birth to now. Let me tell you, that was the best gift that I think he could have gotten. He started to tear up when he was reading it to us. In turn, that made Mari and I tear up also. I’ll have to post the letter that she wrote to him someday. The Heelys still haven’t come in so we are going to get him some from a different store. Do Not shop at Hibbit Sports in Sweetwater Texas, they suck, they lie, they should go out of business, just my opinion.

We also took Zack and a few of his friend out to Abilene for Putt Putt and Pizza. They had a good time eating pizza but the Putt Putt was boring to them. I guess they are getting too old for that, haha. Mari and I had a good time. So it must be that you get too old for it then you get old enough for it. Anyway, next year we will have to do something else for his birthday.

For Zoe’s birthday coming up, April 17th, we are most likely going to have hot dogs and cake at the house. Rent a giant air castle and let all the kids have a great time. She wants to get the giant wave which is a massive air slide that the kids climb up something like 10 stories high then come down the slide about 50 miles per hour. Really, I think it is about a story and a half tall. I don’t think we can make that happen, probably costs a fortune to rent. I think we are going to stick with the air castle for now.

Time sure does fly by these days. It seems like a month and a half ago I was making reservations for my dad, Zack, and I to stay at Cottonwood Cove for our father/son fishing trip that we do every year. And now, it’s already time to take the trip. We will be heading down to Lake Buchanan March 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th for some sand bass fishing. We are both pretty excited about the trip so it should be lots of fun. I’ll have to post some pictures and results of the trip. When I get back, Zoe and I will be taking a father/daughter day. It will probably consist of lots of shopping. I will have to take her to her favorite stores and listen to her tell me all about them. I don’t care much for shopping but it will be worth it just to watch Zoe have a good time leading me around by my little finger. I’ll let you know how that goes also. I can’t wait till Zoe is old enough for me to take her on a fishing trip. She loves to fish but I don’t think she would last the entire four days yet. She would do ok with half a day, maybe. When I take her fishing now I have to increase my life insurance and medical insurance because of all the hooks flying around in the air. Zoe is not scared to try anything so when it comes to casting the line out, GET BACK. Because she is going to show you how it’s done. One day on my dad’s dock I set Zoe down, baited her hook, gave her the pole, then turned and ran. My dad was standing next to her laughing at me running away. A few seconds later my dad passed me, haha.
